LETTER RECOGNITION

My 4 year old is having so much fun learning about letters! She is always asking me for more things to do to practice letters. She loves anything artsy, so we do a lot of letter formation and recognition practice with paint, beads, sequins, etc. Recently, she has been asking me to print her some "school work" just like big sister. She thinks it is so cool to sit at the table and do big kid stuff :) So, I started creating a new packet for her to work on uppercase and lowercase letter recognition, and let me tell you, I could barely make it fast enough! She was so excited! We have been using the activities in this packet for a few weeks, and we are having a blast. I love watching young kids learn and understand things for the first time. This packet has 3 interactive worksheets for each letter, and 2 activities that can be used in a classroom center or individually.

We also practice matching uppercase and lowercase letters with 2 fun center activities. The first one uses puzzle pieces. There are two puzzle pieces for each letter, one uppercase and one lowercase. We spread them out on the floor or the table, and the kids put the matching pieces together.

The second center activity is clip cards. There are two sets of clip cards: one set has a large uppercase letter with three possible lowercase matches, and the other set has a large lowercase letter with three possible uppercase matches. The kids use clothespins to clip the correct match.
